Here's a little peek at what goes into thermography printing. Enjoy!
This weekend I exhibited at my very first bridal show and we rocked it! The Portland Bridal Show was put on by the Maine Wedding Association and was held at the Holiday Inn By the Bay. It was a great time! I got to spend the entire weekend talking about invitations which is one of my favorite things to do! I had a huge support system to help me prepare for the event. My father-in-law built my tables and along with my sister-in-law helped deliver them to the event. My mom helped make the buttons that we handed out which were a huge hit. My husband, Donald earned HUGE brownie points by attending the event with me even though it was going on at the EXACT SAME TIME as the Patriots game. We were able to catch the last 4 seconds of the game in the hotel bar immediately after the Saturday event ended. All of my friends and family have been great by putting up with my endless rambling about the event... I was just so excited! The event was jam-packed with newly engaged couples and their friends and families. Donald and I were lucky to meet so many wonderful brides and grooms to be. There were times that Donald and I couldn't even fit in our booth because of so many people checking out the goods. The best part was all of the amazing people we met, both attendees and other vendors. I'm a little bummed its already over but I'm excited to be able to help a lot of newlyweds design amazing invitations!
Happy Heart Day! My hubby surprised me with a sketch pad and pens today! (He's such a sweetheart!) I'm so excited because hand-lettering is something that has interested me for quite some time and something I'd like to learn how to do. Hand-lettering results in beautiful, one of a kind designs in a time when fonts are a dime a dozen (okay, maybe not a dime but you get my point). Above is my first sketch in my NEW sketch pad! I have a LOOOONG ways to go but I'm excited to learn a new skill! Below are some hand-lettering examples from the pros. Enjoy! I hope everyone has a wonderful lovey-dovey day and doesn't hold back on the chocolate!
-Jess It's snowing (again!) here in New England. When will this winter end?! It was such a tease because everything was finally starting to thaw out over the past few days. It had been a nice 30-something degrees during the day, I could run to the mailbox without a parka, and I could finally see my deck again! I was starting to get the slightest inkling that Spring may be on its way but NOPE! Today brought more SNOW! What does this cause? Snow Inspiration! I think a winter wedding is such a lovely idea! The snow covering creates a beautiful white canvas to work with. Even though it's such a cold time of year, so many of these elements really make you feel so warm inside. Also any wedding accent colors you pick are sure to POP! Below is the inspiration board I put together. If you're somewhere that's getting hit with snow, I hope this will warm you up and take your mind off the snow. If you you're somewhere warm (I'm extremely jealous!), this will give you a taste of snow! Stay warm!
